Alternatives

An alternative to PokerNow and Poker God

If your group plays on PokerNow, or you miss turn-based poker on Poker God, here's where Async Poker fits, and where it doesn't.

For PokerNow groups

PokerNow is a great way to play live in a browser. Async Poker is for the weeks you can't get everyone online at once: turns wait for you, and your phone tells you when it's your move.

For Poker God players

Poker God was a turn-based, heads-up poker app, and it stopped updating in 2015. Async Poker plays the same way, one turn at a time with a notification when it's yours, and adds tables of up to six, private clubs and Omaha.

What Async Poker isn't

It isn't a casino or a real-money site: it never handles money. And it's on iPhone and iPad only, for now.

Questions

Is Async Poker like PokerNow?
Both are free ways to play poker with your friends. PokerNow is built for live sessions in a browser; Async Poker is built for a game that runs all week while everyone plays on their own time.
Is Poker God still available?
No. Its last update came in 2015, and it's no longer in the app stores.
